One of my photos used in a newspaper ad for a local swimwear store. I love Oregon but swimwear doesn’t always go well with snowy mountains. A wetsuit (or drysuit this time of year) is usually more appropriate.
Still hoping to add to my swimwear port and hopefully soon will have a whole series of coastal beach surf swimwear shots on a real life, warm beach– so stay tuned!

Testing out the new computer build and threw this photo together as a sort of “quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog” method of seeing if my workflow was still possible on this machine. It is! And my calibration issues are mostly solved too– though I did have to buy a new calibration colorimeter device.
The photos are the first and last images from a shoot last week. model Kellie, hair Julie Ruckman, mua Terri Lodge

So I haven’t been posting much here lately because I’m switching over my computer to a freshly built 64-bit OS system with a quad core and 8 GB ram. I made the big leap a couple of days ago, and everything is working beautifully (love the new GPU and also getting faster web surfing with a wireless n router/card combo and also love x64 web browsers) but one glitch remains:
My Eye-One monitor calibration doesn’t seem to work!
That means I’m currently working on an awesome dual-monitor, quad core, x64 OS system with no monitor calibration. I’ve done some crude calibration within the gamma settings provided by the graphics card, but it’s still a ways off. Hope to get that solved this weekend and be back to regular posting soon!

Had a chance to fly in a B-17 on Monday. Which is a really, really big deal considering there are only about a half dozen still able to be flown.
Anyway, the shot above is courtesy of Fred Joe of The Oregonian. It was obviously before we took off on the flight– I was trying to get a good shot of the belly gun turret. For more info on the plane and the reality of that belly turret, check out the audio slideshow I produced on the plane’s visit.

I know the light is harsh on the above image but I love it exactly for that. There’s no change in hair and makeup between the second and third shot here– just a change in lighting. I love the raw feel of that lighting change– gives it sort of portrait mixed with beauty shot look.
