Check out this dress– this designer blew me away. Her name is Dawn Garnes and her collection was called Rhythm In Blues and it was amazing. Simply gorgeous dresses!
Okay– I admit. I like this photo ’cause I love the look of this model and the composition. The designer is Adam Andreas and his collection was Geology.
There were some pretty cool guy designs in this show.
Omigod– what is there not to like about this photo? Yes, I’m a little biased but the models are gorgeous, the designs are awesome (Lizz Walker – collection is Pistol Betty), and the runway– I loved it, literally! A crews unrolled white plastic on the runway before the show. The result was that it photographed like plexi and bounced lots of light up creating a really nice look. Kudos to the production crew and the Art Institute for realizing a runway needs to be more than rented risers with that horrible, horrible light sucking black astro turf!
Okay– enough chat. I’m burnin’ the midnight oil to get through the rest of the show pics. In terms of senior collections, this is probably the best I’ve seen in the last four Art Institute annual shows I’ve shot. And man… not to pat myself on the back too much, but I reached a pretty nice shooting stride during the second half of the show.
