New, redesigned BLOG for Pete Springer Photography! I’ll be updating and adding material and links over the weekend. And… the best part is I can FINALLY post BIG horizontal photos!

That means this blog will eventually die. Before that happens, here is some fun trivia about this particular blog.

Out of a total of 58,173 views, my most popular post was Ginch Gonch Boys with 5702 views! That trumps all other posts by, oh, around 5000 views!

Well these glam shots are unlikely to boost my high school senior bookings but I like ‘em anyway. I shoot a wide variety of photos– from fashion to beauty to swimwear to portraits to glam. The main consistency in all of these photos are that I like to photograph people who want to be photographed. Sounds basic but in my past, I’ve shot a lot of photojournalism where many of my subjects didn’t want to be photographed!

Couple of shots from a Waldo Lake canoe camping trip this past summer. Okay, there are a LOT of photos. Most are completely unedited (note the gunk in the upper left of most of the wide angles).

I like to read French Vogue when I camp. And UK Elle. Strange but true.

And I’m in love with Pringle ads and especially the current ads featuring Karlie Kloss.

UK Elle gave the look below a thumbs up for the workplace. Bondage pants in the workplace! Last time I saw that was at Satyricon in the 90’s. I absolutely cannot imagine anyone dressing like this at my last day job which was in pubic radio, that’s for sure!

Lighting storm while I was visiting touched off a bunch of wildfires near Oakridge.

Here’s a little behind the scenes look at how I lit some of these photos. Speedlight on a stand.

Despite a two year phase in program, the Forest Service buckled at the last moment on banning gas powered motor boats from Waldo Lake. There’s a challenge in federal court to the ban. The challenge is complete horseshit. Waldo is the cleanest, purest most pristine canoe and kayak friendly lake in the state. Gas powered motors do not belong on it.

Waldo is so pure it’s compared to distilled water. And two stroke gas motors actually leave oil in the water via their exhaust.

There’s a red rock beach at Waldo that is really cool too.

The huckleberries were more scarce than my trip last year (mosquitoes too!) But I know a secret patch and was able to make a delicious batch of huckleberry cinnamon rolls.
